Real time Data Acquisition, Remote Monitoring and Control of Renewable Energy System are mandatory for an efficient coordinated operation of diverse intermittent energy resources. As an element of initiative to integrate green energy facilities, to aid the prospective smart grid issues, a demonstration project “Design and Development of Smart Micro- Grid” is being executed in Energy Center, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal. The main idea of this paper is to present a continuous monitoring and remote control system for Renewable Energy Sources (RES) which is one amongst the significant footsteps taken for accomplishment of the microgrid Research and Development project. The project features remote control technique of relays developed for real field high power rating sources but to begin with implemented here on low power rating hybrid RES prototype. The deployed instrument can control the RES with imparted logics remotely through a relay module, can readily draw the characteristic plots and saves the data loggings automatically on Excel disk worksheet files. The brain behind is a smart controller developed by means of NI Lab-VIEW software and the NI Compact RIO - 9022 set up along with four modules - NI 9205 analog input voltage, NI 9227 analog input current, NI 9229 analog higher input voltage and NI 9481 Electromechanical relay.
