Abstract

This research aims to find out the relationships among the authors, organizations and countries by means of the social network analysis of Turkish educational publications. Social network analysis is often utilized by a great deal of disciplines to investigate the structures of the societies, to characterize the network structures, and to model and visualize the existing connections which cannot be observed easily. Throughout the present research, the countries with which Turkey has common publications, inter-institutional collaborations, commonly cited journals were also analyzed. Firstly, the educational publications addressed to Turkey in the databases of Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index and Arts and Humanities Citation Index which take place in Web of Knowledge were obtained. Secondly, a comprehensive data cleaning procedure was performed for the data obtained in order to carry out secure and reliable evaluations after acquiring the aforementioned publications. Finally, the remaining data were analyzed through the social network analysis.
