This paper presents Artificial Neural Network based critical clearing time (CCT) calculation for IEEE-9 bus system. The critical clearing time (CCT) at the critical contingency is considered as an index for transient stability. By selecting loads and generators active and reactive power as a input neurons critical clearing time is determined. The modeling and simulation results for load flow and CCT calculations are accomplished using the simulation package ETAP. The ANN training and testing is implemented in MATLAB software.
